Movie Adaptations - Good or Bad?

How about good and bad?

The Good  -

The Devil Wears Prada; Good, although not similiar to the novel in many ways, I still loved it! I see them as completely different things and they're not really an adaptation pair to me, but I loved the differences and both the movie and the book have a heartfelt place on my shelf!

Sex and The City - Obviously! The Series was amazing, the first movie loveable and the sequel, heart stopping! I have watched the series twice over, the first movie about 4 times and the second atleast 3 so far... They are not highly similiar to the book, but I just don't care!



The Bad -

Confessions of a Shopaholic; It could be only because I wanted more, or expected more from this one, the book I adored, the sequel to the book I adored... The movie - hmmm still own it, still have it in a cupboard, and only watch it because Isla Fisher is super cute and the fashions are cute too!


The Can't Wait List -

20 Times a Lady / Whats your Number; soon to be released, I am counting the days however many there may be because I LOVED this book, it was the perfect second release to Karyn Bosnaks first novel - Save Karyn, 20 Times a Lady was just as hilarious and silly and cute as the first novel.. the movie will have Ana Faris and Chris Evans in it, perfect! Can't wait!!!

Something Borrowed + Something Blue; The book duo by Emily Giffin - I came accross the first in an airport in London, fantastic find, have actually read it twice, so I have now ordered Something Blue on Fishpond and can't wait to read it twice! Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin will play the leading ladies in the movie adaptation and wow, what a match for the characters in the book - Release Date: 2011, c'mon! I need something more concrete than that, I'm so darn excited!

Spotlight Challenge... What will you be making?

I have finally built up the courage to enter a competition, and sew for the chance to win tickets to L'Oreal Fashion Festival 2011 in Melbourne!

So I have my fingers crossed while I design and create some sort of reasonable looking Formal, Evening, Cocktail or 'After 5' wear... now I just need to figure out this years hottest colours and styles...

My thoughts so far is something like one of these creations on my virtual 'mood board':

Making the most of a small space

So, this past weekend I finally decided to make a move on organising my little walk in closet - I only moved in 3 months ago after all!

Here are the before shots - everything just went in haphazardly so I could continue living instead of unpacking forever!

Ooooer, Im finally up with technology!

I finally got an iphone! It's the Iphone 4 ofcourse, and I waited patiently while the bugs were ironed out and now I'm hoping I have a good trusty phone for the next year or so... until I get bored once more and it lands in the stockpile of 1year old electronics in my kitchen drawer!

Here it is perched on my messy ( which you can't see! ) work desk... love ya, be good to me.

I'm off to download a hundred Shopping Apps!

I'll tell you what I want.... what I really really want..

Saturday night was spent celebrating my cousins engagement to a gorgeous girl ... and I spent Sunday wishing it was my engagement party - sad but true... no pics to share from the event, lovely as it was I was in a 'no photo' mood.. However it prompted talks of my boyfriend and I sharing a future together - mostly prompted by my Mums comments to him ha ha, thanks Mum!

So I thought I would share my favourite rings, and my dreams....

Daydream Destination...

Well, Im stuck in the office and wishing I was here:

Seasonal Transition.... Must need new shoes yes?

Now, I am just dying to purchase all of these, but must pick only a few... well maybe most...

To get these lovelies out of the way, I agree they are a little 'out there' but I love out there shoes, I would wear these with black jeans and a bright as bright top - love!

To balance the 'crazy' of the last pair, how pretty and classic are these grey suede peep toes! oh so many things to wear these with!

And these, oh these... Chain instead of the oh-so-done Diamantes... love this idea.

Love what these would do to an outfit! The purple, the gold, so pretty yet so tough! To Die!!

Jury is still out on these, what do you think - they could either look uber cool... or trasherrific - I can't decide!

But these, oh these are just the cutest thing ever, until the next cutest thing I find anyway - but don't you just love, with a floaty cream dress or skirt, oh loving them.

And the previous pairs 'closed in' sister, these are just about the cutest next pair ever, with light wash jeans and a light top... dying at the thought.
